A little bit on the French side

One of the goals of this little place in the wine world is to not be snobby. There are folks who get their snob on with wine and that is fine. It just isn’t me. I enjoy wine to enjoy wine. So in true non-wine-snob fashion.. I present Louis Jadot and his Beaujolais-Villages

Vintage year is 2022, so it is a bit young. The color was a gorgeous garnet with a nose bouquet of red fruits- raspberry, strawberry, cherry. As it ages, this will more then likely pull back some and become more woodsey. (My spelling.. I like it).

But what does it taste like? That is the kicker with wine- all the color and nose notes mean nothing if you do not like the taste. This little darling was so incredibly drinkable. Like bing cherries when they are picked in the summer and eaten fresh. It wasn’t overly sweet- even though this is 100 percent Gamay grapes. It had some nice finishing notes and paired well with the holiday snacks we had going on.

Price point was again under $20.00 and is just as easily found at your local market as a big wine retailer. French wine purists probably would have issues with a Beaujolais this young but no bother. Sometimes trying a wine young determines if you want to invest more to age. Do you! Cheers!
